Shown in this video is the assembly of a female Enteral small-bore connector test sample with the associated male reference connector. The reference connector is selected for the specific performance test that is to be carried out after assembly is complete.
The S15A connector assembly device is used for the assembly of samples with reference connectors for all of the performance tests in Annexes B through to I of ISO 80369-20:2015.
The S15A connector assembly device is suitable for connecting reference connectors with:
- Enteral small-bore connectors of ISO 80369-3:2016
- Neuraxial small-bore connectors of ISO 80369-6:2016
- Luer small-bore connectors of ISO 80369-7:2016
- RESP-125 and RESP-6000 connectors of FDIS ISO 80369-2
- Enteral connectors for reservoir systems of ISO 18250-3:2018
- Connectors for citrate-based anticoagulant solution for apheresis applications of ISO 18250-8:2018
The S15A is the key device in Enersol's small-bore connector range for the ISO 80369 and ISO 18250) series as it is required for all of the performance tests.
For this demonstration the technician is showing the assembly action (a push and turn action) that connects the sample with the reference connector using a known force and torque. This video is a simple demonstration of the S15A connector assembly device and does not include other important steps of the method.
Enersol's S15A is typically supplied with a known axial force in the range of 26.5 N to 27.5 N as required in ISO 80369-20:2015. The device is manufactured and calibrated around the middle of the force range. It’s side weight (for torque) is supplied suitable for the assembly of both slips and locks.
An additional weight is supplied with the S15A which is used for the resistance to overriding test in Annex H of ISO 80369-20:2015. Demonstration of the use of this device for this test is in another video, here: [ Ссылка ]
A variant of the S15A connector assembly device, model S15B, is available. The S15B is supplied with additional weights for force and torque. The S15B is suitable for the above as well as the assembly force for a twist-lock connector for the connectors for reservoir delivery systems standards of ISO ISO 18250-1 and ISO 18250-3, and the overriding test for ISO 80369-2 RESP-6000 connectors.
