On November 25, Indian parliamentary proceedings were suspended due to bribery allegations against Indian billionaire Gautam Adani. Opposition parties raised concerns about Adani's ties to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and promised to address the issue during the session. Adani and seven others were recently charged by U.S. authorities for allegedly paying around $265 million in bribes to Indian government officials. These bribes were said to have been paid to secure contracts worth $2 billion in profit over 20 years, as well as to develop India’s largest solar power project. Additionally, the charges included misleading the public despite being aware of the U.S. investigation in 2023.
