Disaster-resilient technology, GIS models and simulation capabilities, interactive mapping tools, free and open source software, and accessible smartphone applications exemplify some of the advances in technology that support DRR action at the local level. This presentation brings together a few members of the Capacity for Disaster Reduction Initiative (CADRI) to share examples of innovative tools and approaches in DRR. CADRI is a global partnership composed of 18 UN and non-UN organizations working towards strengthening countries’ capacities to prevent, manage and recover from the impact of disasters.
