Sony has revealed its new ZH8 (also marketed as the Bravia Z8H in the USA) full-array local dimming 8K HDR LED LCD TV at CES 2020. Given its X-tended Dynamic Range Pro rating of 14x, as well as our subjective impressions (albeit of pre-production units), it may be capable of peak brightness of 2000 nits or even higher.
Other features include X1 Ultimate chipset, X-Wide Angle, X-Motion Clarity, Acoustic Multi-Audio with frame tweeter for wider soundfield, backlit remote control, as well as Android TV platform.
The Sony Z8H/ ZH8 sits below the Z9G/ ZG9, and so is not included in the Master Series. Two screen sizes are available, namely the 75-inch KD-75ZH8 (XBR-75Z8H) and the 85-inch KD-85ZH8 (XBR-85Z8H).
Despite suggestions that VRR, ALLM & 8K decoding can possibly be added via firmware updates, you should assume that the Sony Z8H/ Z8H won't come with these features, unless the company officially announce otherwise.
