Squint or deviation of eyes is a commonly seen condition. It is seen both in children and adults. The eyes may be seen deviating inwards or outwards, upwards or downwards. They may or may not be associated with the need of glasses. Squint can result in poor vision and it can also be the cause of poor vision, so it needs to be examined and treated early.

Among children if squint is left untreated, it can lead to permanent loss of vision. So whenever a child or an adult is seen squinting, get a proper eye check-up done. Get all the treatable causes treated. Proper glasses are a must. The child may need patching for improvement of vision and in the end to get the proper realignment of eyes very successful surgical procedures are available.
