Presently, BCEHS paramedics are regularly being called to respond to potential COVID-19 patients.
Paramedics routinely gown up for known infectious patients as part of our infection control practices, which include the use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE). PPE kits include gloves, N-95 masks, safety goggles, face shields and gowns.
These infection control practices have been in place long before COVID-19.
These videos give the public a sense of how paramedics don (put on) and doff (take off) Personal Protective Equipment to avoid cross- contamination and protect paramedics and those around them from getting sick.
