Today on our 2017 Toyota Tundra, we'll be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains with Cams, part number TC2228CAM. Keep in mind that this is being used on tire size 255-70R 18. The Titan chains are made out of a durable, low-carbon, steel construction, and provide extra traction in snow and ice. The ladder pattern assists with effective starts and stops, and the size of our links help to limit any jarring. These tire chains are perfect for on road applications, and the built-in cam tighteners make for a tight and secure fit. These Titan chains have a maximum speed rating of 30 miles per hour, and come in a quantity of two.
Now that we've gone over some features, we're going to show you how to get these installed. I've gone ahead and laid out my chains just to be sure there aren't any kinks or breaks in the lines, and we're going to make sure that our cams are completely loose and that the hooks are facing out whenever we load this up onto our tire. Now we'll start by taking our chains and just draping them over our tire, and now we just want to make sure that it sits evenly from side to side and front to back. Now we'll go around to the back side and secure that first. Now here on the back side of our tire, we're going to connect these links here to the hook on the other side. I'm going to go for my third one here.
Now we don't want to have it too tight, because we still have to secure the front, so about the middle, or if you have larger tires you might want to go for one of the first two there. Now we can move around to the front and secure that next. Here on the front we'll do the same thing, connecting our links to our cam hook here. Again I'm going to go for that third. Once it's connected we'll turn that cam back and we'll secure it with that triangular holder there. Now we'll take our included tensioner.
I'm going to go around and tighten down our cams. We might not be able to tighten all of them, but we want to tighten as many as we can so that our tire chain is completely secure around our tire. Now we didn't need to tighten up all of ours, but we can drive forward a couple of feet, get out and check the tension. We can adjust more of those tensioners as we need to, or we can tighten up those links.
