Apapa is a local government area in Lagos state which lies near the Lagos lagoon. Apapa is famously known for ports and terminals as the community has the Lagos port, Tin can Island port amongst others which are used for various commodities such as containers and bulk cargoes, houses, offices and the revived railway station known as Apapa train station (BOLA Tinubu station). The ports are operated by Nigeria ports Authority (NPA).
Apapa also has different commercial offices of many shipping, clearing and transportation companies, one of the notable building is the Folawiyo Towers and the coperate head office of a leading newspaper company in Nigeria. This community also have some parts which are mostly for residential, this part of Apapa is known as the Apapa GRA.
