The main protagonist is Cole Phelps - a young, upcoming and eager LAPD recruit who is about to get launched into his career maker - or breaker. It's 1947 L.A. Cali and people aren't quite over WWII, including Cole. Cole has LA-sized ambitions - often to the dismay of his peers.
