Rice stem borers Scirpophaga innotata and Scirpophaga incertulas are considered as the most important insects retarding paddy yiels especially in thr core area or rice zone of Punjab. Its attack is not so severe in cetral to south Punjab. Farmers use cartap, monomehypo, chlorantraniliprol, fipronil and many other products to control stem borer in rice crop. In this video, we have advised the farmers to use the best insecticide that is Regent 80 WG (fipronil) Bayer Pakistan @ 45 gram per acre to address this notorious insect. It has also been directed that it should be applied twice. 1st application at 20- 25 day and second at 40-45 days after transplanting of rice.
