Yo-Yo Lin, an Asian woman with shoulder-length hair that starts deep brown at the root and fades to blonde, talks under footage showing her dancing slowly on the sidewalk in front of a graffitied wall. A soft pink backdrop appears behind her as studio lights spotlight them. The video moves back-and-forth from this set-up to a studio space where Yo-Yo attaches microphones to various parts of her body. She moves her body to the sounds of her joints, cutting the a black space where she dances in a distance, illuminated be a projected cube. Back in front of the camera, they gesture articulately with their hands, referencing her body. Throughout the piece, we see images of Yo-Yo’s work as she discusses them: an opened journal, projection of Yo-Yo’s body, and a digital dance party.
