Hey YouTuber's and welcome back. Capt Dan here, so today I moved my 72ft Uniesse over to Bimini Bahamas and was granted time off while the Owner enjoyed his little mini vacation over in Bimini with his family. I took the FRS Fast Ferry back to Miami then later that week flew back down on Spirit Airlines.
Just when I thought my boat was fast, the FRS ferry was cooking at 31.5 knots!! Holy smokes that's fast! Fun fact while I was on the 2 hour crossing to come back home, I was granted permission to go up into the Bridge of the Ferry and I was able to meet the captain, the first mate, and the chief engineer.
This fast ferry has 4 main diesel power plants that spins at 1800 Rpms, and the propellers turn at 800 Rpms, so a 10 to 1 ratio. At top speed, this vessel can cruise at 38 knots!! (Of course if the sea conditions allow)
This was one of the smoothest rides I've ever been on, and even though I wasn't allowed to film up in the Bridge, I did decide to take a small clip of the massive power being thrown out the back of the boat.
