Beasley Allen principal and founder Jere Beasley is calling on Johnson & Johnson to add an ovarian cancer warning to its talcum powder products like Johnson’s Baby Powder. At the most recent talc trial, held in California, plaintiffs lawyers introduced into evidence talcum powder products from other manufacturers that contain a warning that regular use in the genital area may increase risk for ovarian cancer. Beasley says other evidence shows J&J has known about this risk for decades but still refuses to warn consumers. The California jury awarded plaintiff Eva Echeverria $417 million, holding J&J liable for her ovarian cancer.
