In this video I will show you how to make a delicious crustless mushroom & cheese quiche.
It's not as difficult as many people think and a great quiche like this is rich and so delicious that it can be served at any party, picnic or regular family dinner.
Fun Facts About Quiche:
- Considered a French dish, however it originated in Germany. The German word for cake is "kuchen" from which the name "quiche" is derived.
- It originated in the medieval kingdom of Lothringen, under German rule, and later this region was ruled by the French who renamed the region Lorraine. This is where the name and popular type of quiche comes from - Quiche Lorraine.
- Use of eggs and cream in pastry was used in England as early as the 14th century, but it became popular in England after WWII.
- Quiche became popular in the US in the 1950's.
- There used to be a stigma that "real men don't eat quiche", but today it can be found in many of the top coffee shops and restaurants and served in the chicest of parties.
