This simple and delicious raspberry jam recipe uses just three ingredients: fresh local raspberries, sugar, and lemon juice. It’s best made with fresh, in-season raspberries to capture the peak of their flavor. Ready in less than 30 minutes, you can easily enjoy this fresh homemade treat!
Ingredients:
- 8 cups fresh local raspberries
- 4 cups sugar
- Juice of 3 lemons
Instructions:
1. Rinse the raspberries thoroughly and place them in a large pot. Add the sugar to the pot. Over low heat, mash the raspberries and sugar together until the sugar is fully dissolved. Stir in the lemon juice.
2. Increase the heat to medium and bring the raspberry mixture to a rolling boil. Boil for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
3. While the jam is boiling, wash and sterilize your jars and lids. You can do this by boiling them in water for 10 minutes or by placing the jars on a baking sheet in an oven preheated to 275°F for 10 minutes (be sure to boil the lids for 10 minutes).
4. Once the jam has finished boiling, remove it from the stove. Carefully ladle the hot jam into the sterilized jars, leaving a little space at the top.
5. Place the lids on the jars immediately to seal them.
6. Allow the jars to cool completely. Store the jam in a cool place until ready to use. Refrigerate after opening.
7. Enjoy your homemade raspberry jam on toast, in desserts, or straight from the jar!
