The Żarnowiec Nuclear Power Plant, approved in 1972, by the polish planning commission, was intended to be the first of its kind in the country, but the perfect storm of events would lead to the abandonment of this mega project. Today I will dive into the history of this ambitious project, the challenges it faced, its abandonment, and the future of nuclear power in Poland.
