[(1) 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children: Briefing by the Minister of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities on South Africa’s campaign under the banner: ‘Socio-Economic Rights and Empowerment to build women’s resilience against gender-based violence and femicide: Connect, Collaborate, Contract!’ and how the above principle and outcomes of this campaign integrate into overall national strategy and efforts to combat gender-based violence and femicide, and the elimination of stumbling blocks that have to date frustrated progress towards achieving greater gender equality, and the safety and security of women and children.; (2) The South African Police Service (SAPS) report-back on the progress made with implementing measures to promote victims' safe and supported reporting of GBVF cases, and interventions to conduct investigations that would lead to successful prosecutions: progress made with establishing victim-friendly rooms at police stations; progress made with ensuring adequate supply of rape-kits; progress made with the training of personnel, particularly in terms of their capacity to adequately deal with GBVF cases; an assessment on progress made with eliminating DNA backlogs, and to interventions to ensure that forensic laboratories can keep pace with testing demands; and update on the SAPS interventions to ensure the successful implementation of the Criminal Law (Forensic Procedures) Amendment Act 37 of 2013; (3) Department of Justice briefing on progress made with the the re-establishment of sexual offences courts (Mattso Courts), eliminating GBVF case backlogs, and interventions needed to address areas of dysfunction], Virtual Meeting Platform, 10:00
