The government have plans to bring in an independent football regulator to ‘protect clubs’ by ‘ensuring their financial sustainability’, and UEFA have a problem with it.
UEFA are concerned because the UK government are getting involved which goes against one of their ‘fundamental requirements’: ‘No government interference in the running of football’.
