It’s a traditional Japanese cake, and also one of the world’s famous street foods
Very simple and doesn't take much time, you just need a Taiyaki pan to make them.
Taiyaki can be made with many different fillings, but today I will start with the traditional filling, which is red bean paste.
Ingredients:
Red bean filling:
- 500g red beans
- 350g white granulated sugar
Cake batter:
- 150g all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 30g white granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 200ml unsweetened milk
- Butter to brush the cake mold
