Some 170,000 refugees have fled conflict and food insecurity in Sudan's Blue Nile and South Kordofan states. After a harrowing journey, they arrive in camps in South Sudan where aid is severely lacking. Around 55,000 refugees are now in Yida camp, a site initially intended to host 15,000 people. Every day, new families arrive, tired and weakened by their journey to escape Sudan. Despite the increasing aid, the situation in the camp is a major humanitarian disaster. According to a survey by Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), since June, at least five children have been dying every day.
