.38 Special VS 9mm short barrels episode 3, Federal HST ammunition. The 9mm is a 124 gr JHP and the .38 Special is a 130 gr JHP. The 9mm test gun is a Diamondback DB9 with a 3.00" barrel, and the .38 Special test gun is a S&W 342PD with a 1.875" barrel. Both handguns weigh about the same as well.
