The room, which was dedicated to different gods venerated by the owner, showcases a mix of Greco-Roman and Egyptian divinities, such as Jupiter, Juno and Minerva, alongside Isis, Osiris and Anubis.
This coexistence of different religions in the same house highlights the contrast with the monotheistic nature of Christianity, which led to problems with the Romans and ultimately persecution of Christians for rejecting the divinity of the emperors. The discovery of these frescoes offers a glimpse into the past and helps to understand how Christianity survived in the polytheistic Roman world.
