The Wall Street Journal reported Apple held preliminary talks with Baidu regarding the use of Baidu's generative artificial intelligence tool in Apple's devices in China.
Apple is seeking a local generative AI model provider, primarily because the models need to be vetted by China's cyberspace regulator before public release.
