True Cost Accounting is a newly evolving tool for assessing the costs and benefits of different food production systems. The information derived from this approach can enable governments and others to introduce policy and economic measures which improve the economic environment for sustainable food production . As a result, food pricing can become more honest and future policy interventions realigned in such a way that they serve the public interest.
