One of my dream catch comes true of 22221 Mumbai CSMT - Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express which is Central Railway's first Rajdhani Express as well as first Push-Pull Rajdhani Express of Indian Railways.
Locomotives : AJNI WAP-7 #30580 (Pull) & AJNI WAP-7 #30579 (Push)
About Push & Pull Technique :-
Push & Pull technique involves use of two locomotives - one in front & one at the back. Essentially providing more stability to the train. It reduces jerks, shunting time & the time it takes to accelerate & decelerates on curves. This arrangement enables quick pick-up after starting from stations, clearing points (track crossovers), & caution orders. Few minutes of saving at each point leads to a substantial time saving in the end. Along with the push & pull method, line clearance is required to reap maximum benefits of the quick pick & braking.
