Here we’ll detail the steps on applying RockTape Kinesiology Tape to the knee. This application can reduce pain and inflammation in the area.
Using our 4 inch big daddy tape can help cover a wider surface area and create a stronger anchor.
Start with 4 inch wide tape and measure from above to just below the kneecap.
With our standard 2 inch tape, measure a second strip from one side of the knee to the other. This will cross the base of the kneecap.
Round the tape’s corners to avoid catching on gear or clothing.
To create a Split Y split, cut down the center leaving about 2 inches at the end, this end will be the anchor.
From a seated position, stretch the skin by bending the knee.
With the Y Strip, tear the release paper off the 4 inch end, then anchor just above the kneecap. The two inch strips should face down.
Pull away the release paper from one of the 2 inch sections and apply around the kneecap.
Repeat for the remaining 2 inch section and apply around the other side of the kneecap.
Rub to activate the adhesive.
Tear the center of the second strip to expose the adhesive. Then, with slight stretch, apply to the base of the kneecap. Lay down the ends with no stretch and rub to activate the adhesive.
