🏙️ For Today’s Cranbrook Collection Deep Dive, we're talking about the work of iconic ceramicst and artist Jun Kaneko.

🏺 Over six decades, Jun Kaneko's diverse artistic journey bridged ceramic form with abstract surface decoration, spanning ceramics, painting, sculpture, and design. Kaneko served as the Ceramics Artist-in-Residence at Cranbrook Academy of Art from 1979-1986, where he explored contemporary craft and fine art concerns.

🗓️ Some of Kaneko's artwork from the Cranbrook Collection will be on display at Wayne State University's Elaine L. Jacob Gallery. "Elevation: Kaneko and Contemporary Ceramics" will be on view from September 15 to December 7, 2023.
