April 30, 1988 - Sometimes, 80's basketball WAS built different. Here, we observe the result of a game-long build-up of excessive physicality in the paint. Midway through the fourth quarter of Game 2 of their first round series, sufficiently frustrated Detroit Pistons enforcer Rick Mahorn took his anger out on Washington's Darrell Walker, the latter of whom somehow managed to return fire after catching Mahorn's initial bombardment.
In the end, it was Mahorn who walked away with the technical and eventually, the win. A late Isiah Thomas layup proved to be the winner in a 102-101 Pistons victory.
