The Yellow Jackets came out and dominated their season opener, 85-39 over the Eagles. Georgia Tech made 9-26 from three-point range while also holding Winthrop to zero made three-pointers. Four Yellow Jackets scored in double figures with all 11 players who entered the game scoring. Dani Carnegie came off the bench to lead Georgia Tech with 17 points on 6-10 shooting and 4-6 from beyond the arc. Tonie Morgan had 15 points, six assists, and four rebounds. Ines Noguero and Ariadna Termis each scored 11 points.
