A discussion I get pulled into frequently with my banking friends is the one about the Mainframe. I do not understand why it is often seen as an old legacy platform and architecture, when it is still the most reliable and i/o capable architecture available.

In many cases the performance and reliability of the IBM Mainframe married with cloud native technologies such as Linux and RedHat OpenShift running in a Hybrid Cloud infrastructure is a winning combination. If you bring in the IBM Cloud for Financial Service to manage regulated workloads, you have a platform that is hard to beat...
