JAKARTA – PT New Priok Container Terminal One (NPCT 1), a joint venture company between PT
IPC Terminal Petikemas and international consortium as the Operator of New Priok Container
Terminal One at Tanjung Priok Port managed to record the accumulated throughput of 1 million TEUs
(Twenty Feet Equivalent Units). This achievement was made within less than 1.5 years, since its
commercial operation in August 2016.
With a facility space of 32 ha, NPCT 1 is capable to handle capacity of 1.5 million TEUs. Since August
2016, NPCT 1 has been active for 2.7 million hours with zero accident. Director of Commercial and
Business Development of IPC, Saptono R. Irianto said, “We could reach 1 million TEUs driven by our
level of service, productivity and speed. We have an adequate equipment that can serve any size of
ship in the NPCT 1.”
The New Priok or Kalibaru Port will have two more container terminals namely NPCT 2 and NPCT 3.
Besides that, IPC will also build Terminal Product 1 and 2 for gas and liquid products. Each terminal
can handle up to 1.5 million TEUs.
NCPT 2 and NPCT 3 are located on the reclamation land and is waiting for consolidation process.
IPC expects the new terminals could commence operation in the next two years. Besides that, IPC is
also building a cargo access to NPCT 1 2 3 and Product Terminal 1 2 in the eastern side. Currently,
access to cargo is only available in the southern side. (LM)
