🎉 Three Kings Parade aka. "La Cabalgata de Reyes" in Corralejo, Fuerteventura! 🤴👑
🔔Christmas Tradition in Spain 🇪🇸
As Christmas celebrations in most countries focus on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, Spain doesn't celebrate those days particulary big. The holiday season here is highlighted by the arrival of the Three Kings. The celebrations start on the night of January 5th with a Parade called "La Cabalgata de Reyes Magos".
🎉 La Cabalgata de Reyes" 🤴👑
"La Cabalgata de Reyes" is a centuries-old tradition in Spain, featuring elaborately decorated floats carrying the Three Kings (Melchior, Caspar, and Balthazar) as they journey through the streets, tossing sweets and small gifts to the cheering crowds. The kings are accompanied by dancers, jugglers and mascots. It's a visual feast of colors, music, and joy that captivates both locals and visitors alike. In preparation for the parade, Kids write letters to the three Kings expressing their wishes and requests for gifts. The letters are handed over from the Kids to the Kings before or during the Parade.
🎁 Gifts 🎁
On January 6th Families come together to celebrate the Epiphany and share delicious meals, exchange presents, and revel in the spirit of generosity and goodwill. The festive atmosphere lingers well into January, making it a unique and memorable experience for all.
The Three Kings Parade in Corralejo started at the "Las Palmeras" Shopping Centre and run along the avenue " Avenida Nuestra Senora del Carmen" to the Square "Plaza Patricio Calero".
