Lanidia is one of our advanced students. She's working the front desk today. Our advanced students get to work up front to get a feel for what it's like to be behind the desk of a real salon. Lanidia's responsibilities include answering the phone, checking in clients, and handling the retail area.

On the salon floor, our students service clients and are taught how to rebook them. The students on the floor are often working on clients. If not, they work on mannequin heads. John, one of our advanced students, is finishing up a client's style. He loves the opportunity to work with people and he appreciates that he can get hands-on experience from his Empire education.

Over at the dispense area, Britney and Jamie take care of inventory prep, mix color, and make sure all the students have the products they need. Jamie likes that she's getting real experience right now and that she's already familiar with the products and tools that she'll be using once she graduates.

In the classroom Amost is teaching students all the basics, such as the science of color levels and tones. The students are coloring mannequins right now but will soon be working on real models. Holly's mom is coming in later in the day for a color application. Holly feels ready for the challenge and is excited.

In the advanced classroom, Jen is preparing students to get their licenses. The advanced instructors prepare students for the real world by using speed drills and lots of time tests. Jen says that getting timing down is the most important part. Britney is doing her time drills right now. She just washed her mannequi's hair out and is now combing through its hair. She now knows what is needed to do in order to pass and what she needs to prepare for.

Gina is teaching our educators, keeping them up to date with the latest industry trends. She's also showing off some new functions of the team board, which is an interactive whiteboard, a tool used each day by the instructors. Betsey, one of our instructors, loves the interaction with the students and that they're constantly looking to improve people's lives. She loves making a difference.

Kyla, our executive director is helping our recent graduate, Natalie. She's giving her all her paperwork to mail in and get her license. Kyla is here to help people change their lives. She has been in the industry for 23 years and her goal is to help people get into the industry like she did. She's here to help with financial aid, admissions, grades, and just about anything else.
