(20 Sep 2014) Cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan continued to lead protests against Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Saturday.
Supporters of Khan and his Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party, along with cleric Tahir-ul-Qadri, have camped in the capital Islamabad for five weeks to demand Sharif's resignation.
Addressing the crowd on Saturday, Khan said "if any ruler breaks law, then public will march in streets like us."
The crowd responded by fist pumping and chanting "go Nawaz go".
Despite the ongoing protests, Sharif reiterated on Friday the resolve of the government to uphold the supremacy of the Parliament, rule of law and sanctity of the Constitution.
A joint session of the parliament also adopted a resolution condemning the anti-government protests and vowed to protect the parliament and democracy.
Sharif also rejected allegations of fraud in last year's parliamentary elections, saying that they were the most transparent in the country's history.
