This is Dogwood Spring at Ginnie Springs, Florida. The spring flows into the Santa Fe River. The water is crystal clear and 72° year around.
I am a certified freediver and love exploring underwater caves. I was camping at Ginnie Springs and they have several spring caves to explore. Dogwood Spring, a 2nd-magnitude spring, is one of my favorites since it has crystal clear water and the cave is easily accessible (not deep). I set up a GoPro on an underwater tripod to get some of the shots. I have another GoPro on a pole with a light attachment which is good for dark caves and diving at night. I went there during the day to dive in the crystal clear water and then I went back at night for a spooky nighttime dive and to see what the spring was like underwater at night. Those little "snowflakes" in the water at night are reflections from my light of floating particles that are invisible during the day. The spring water temperature is 72°F year-round, so sometimes I wear a wet suit. Inside the cave, it's just as dark during the day as it is at night!
