🇦🇲 Noravank Monastery ~ A quick exploration to give you an idea of this monastic complex
An enchanting 3 church monastic settlement said to be built in the 13th C. It was the hub of creativity at the time where art, manuscripts and other creative and imaginative works were being produced
It's best known for its 2 storey Surb Astvatsatsin Church where the top level is accessed by 2 steep and narrow staircases from either side leading to the top chapel - unfort, it's now closed to the public so you are not able to climb it for that famous photo sitting on the steps 😖
(For those of us lucky enough to have climbed in and have photos… cherish those memories!)
There are many beauriful khatchkars around the area with carved rocks and tomb stones scattered around
