Chlorosis can affect Holm Oaks and we also have signs of Holm oak blotch leaf-miner (Phyllonorycter messaniella). Chlorosis can be corrected with the application of iron and the leaf-miner is not a bothersome pest, but it will affect the appearance of the leaves.
We lost one of our eight matching Quercus Ilex in the recent storms so we’ve made a decision to use an even more robust staking system so that we don’t lose any more.
