Angoori Petha ko kayi nam se jana jata hai, jeyse agra petha or agre ka petha or agra sweet , isse melon candy bhi bola jata hai. Ye Agra ki ek famous sweet dish hai, jise Ash Gourd or White Pumpkin se banaya jata hai.

Ingredients :
Ash Gourd / White Pumpkin - 1 Kg
Sugar - 2 1/2 cup
Lemon juice - 1 tsp
Kewra Water - 1 tsp
Cardamom - 3 or 4
Almond (Optional)
How to make Petha :
1. Take around 1 Kg White Pumpkin or Ash Gourd, remove the soft pulpy part, and peel the green skin. Then cut it into small pieces. Wash it with water.
2. Take a fork and poke all pieces from all sides. Boil them in medium flame for 7 to 10 minutes until they get soft. Then transfer it into cold water . Then rinse it off into a bowl and let it cool.
3. Take 2 1/2 cup sugar and pour 1 1/2 cup water into it. Cook it in medium flame till sugar dissolves. Add 3 or 4 cardamom into it and mix it well. Stir at regular intervals.
4. Add all boiled pieces into the sugar syrup and mix it well. Cook it in medium flame for 10 to 15 minutes until the pieces become transparent.
5. When the sugar syrup is of desired consistency, pour the kewra water into it and mix it well. Boil 2-3 minutes.
6. Take a plate and arrange it one by one with a spoon. Set them to become cool. Keep under the fan to dry for 8 - 10 hours.
7. Now angoori petha or agra petha is ready to serve. Place it nicely into the plate and garnish it with some finely chopped almonds.
