UPDATE December 5, 2023: Ratio Technologies just released an ALUMINUM replacement spool. This should go beyond being a replacement part to being an actual upgrade. [ Ссылка ]
@SRAM Force 1 HRD (or any of the recent DoubleTap shifters) have a weak spot. The spool that anchors and pulls the cable is subject to damage. This can be caused any time the cable binds due to dirt, or other constraints in the cable housing or RD while the user shifts down. The cable head can pop out of the spool and when retightened, it pulls through the plastic. This will probably work for a while, but eventually it won't stay in even with fresh, clean cable runs and it's done. Unfortunately, SRAM doesn't see fit to sell replacement spools. In fact they feel that there are no user-serviceable parts in the shifter. So the only official solution is to buy a whole new shifter. Waste of money and resources.
Fortunately, a UK company called Ratio Technology @ratiotechnology1905 had a clever thought. They were already making replacement spools for their 11 to 12 speed upgrade kits and they (obviously) fit in the 11 speed shifters. So they sell them as repair parts too. Yaaaaaaa!
They made a good video to show how to do the swap ([ Ссылка ]) But I thought it might be good to document a 'civilian' customer doing what turns out to be a fairly simple repair.
