I shot this video in 2002 on a borrowed mini-DV camcorder, which - as you see - I didn't particularly know how to use. I would see Franz play often in those days before they had a record deal. They were the hardest working band in Glasgow and the Chateau parties were incredible (for many reasons). At one point we even discussed putting a 7" out together - which sadly never materialised as I left to live in Germany for a while. I used extracts from this footage in my 2003 film "The Way Out (a portrait of Xentos)" with Kosten Koper (Diskono) but no one has seen it in full with audio (which sadly is pretty distorted due to the on-board mic). This unreleased song, shot during their residency at STEREO on Kelvinhaugh Street (now called The 78) features bv's from Joanne Robertson and Celia Hempton - who also played that evening as I Love Lucy. Its a great track and captures the raw energy of the band in those early days.
