Kashiwa Reysol and FC Tokyo met in the Levain Cup final at the New National Stadium on a very unfamiliar date: January 4th, 2021.
This was the untraditional season finale. The Levain Cup was postponed from October, and for the first time in J.League history became the final game of the season.
And this was the experience as Kashiwa Reysol and FC Tokyo - both two-time winners of the Levain Cup - met in a final unlike another in front of a sell-out crowd at the New National Stadium in the Japanese capital.
A fitting end to the most unusual of Japanese football seasons.
