COLD STAYS PUT; SNOW IMMINENT THIS WEEKEND
BONE-CHILLING. That pretty much sums up the start to our morning. Temperatures are starting in the single digits with wind chills dipping back in the 20 to 25 degree below zero range. Brisk northwest winds reinforcing these cold wind chills will keep temperatures pretty cold as well. In fact, most hometowns will not even get out of the single digits for daytime highs.
These approaching clouds will lead to our next round of snow for most hometowns by the evening hours. Still, not very impressed what I see amount-wise, but none the less I do see some minor accumulations across the southern two-thirds of the area. A solid inch..maybe two of this dry, fluffy snow is likely before tapering right around midnight.
BUT WAIT! Not quite done with the snow in our forecast as we march our way into the weekend and the brand new month. Another stronger, more widespread snowy weather pattern will be watched with great importance beginning Saturday night through Sunday before tapering Monday morning. Several inches of snowfall is still on the table with the higher snow bands expected to remain just to our south. I still see some wobbling with this disturbance, which could have an impact on amounts, so stay tuned. Things could get interesting.
