British Members of the European Parliament will be among those taking their seats on July 2nd, but if the UK leaves the EU on October 31st as planned they will lose their jobs. A number of ‘backup’ MEPs have been elected in other European countries to replace some British positions - but until the UK leaves the EU, those ‘spare’ MEPs are in limbo with no official role.
