After 10 years assisting purchasing in an independent store and almost 6 years as a store owner I have come across hundreds of thousands of products. These steps will not only get you in the door but also help your product fly off the shelves. Lets face it, if the product doesn't move it won't be on the shelf for long!
These are the steps I suggest in order to get your food products to grocery stores. There may be some variation from country to country but I believe these rules are universal.
One thing not mentioned in the video is that you need to have some tough skin as you will hear a-lot of "no thank yous." However, it's a numbers game and what matters at the end of the day is those who are willing to work with you. You will need to get out of your comfort zone and really start to approach owners/managers. Trust the majority of store managers/owners are decent people, some will just take the sample, and some will just be nasty.
