In this video I replace the middle roller of a VW T4 Transporter, (See description for links to rollers). The same principal is used for other vans like the T5 Sliding Door, VW Caddy Sliding Door, Crafter Sliding door as well as other makes too. Most sliding doors use the same roller mechanism and this job is a relatively easy 30-6o minute job. The job is easier with a second person assisting with the door with removing bolts or adjusting the sliding door alignment but I manage on my own and as long as the sliding door is supported, replacing the rollers can be done by yourself too.
I already had a replacement roller from a previous spare door I had which, although old, rolls fine. I degreased and re-oiled the roller the ensure it will roll in the sliding door channel with ease for years to come.
I have already replaced the bottom door roller and that video is on my channel already. Once both rollers have been replaced, the door can be opened and closed with your little finger and rolls on its own, the difference before/after is amazing.
