The final five players at the 2001 Derby City Classic included this match between Johnny Archer and Mika Immonen.
Both of these players had Hall of Fame careers, winning most every title available at the upper levels of the game.
“The Scorpion” Johnny Archer was a two time World 9-Ball Champion and was named the Billiards Digest Player of the Decade in the 1990s.
“The Iceman” Mika Immonen had yet to win a World Championship at the time of this match, but he would go on to win both a 9-ball and 10-ball World title. He would also go on to be named the Billiards Digest Player of the Decade in the 2000s.
