With over 80 different types of the flower on exhibit, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) officially opened its six-day Rose Festival on Friday. The Tulip Festival from last month served as the inspiration for this festival's organising. The India-Africa Friendship Rose Garden located on Shanti Path in Chanakyapuri is the venue for the Rose Festival, which runs through March 7.

"To celebrate the spring season in New Delhi, the New Delhi Municipal Council is organising a series of events like Tulip festival, Music in the Park, Flower Festival, Rose Festival and Food Festival," according to a statement. The statement states that the NDMC's Rose Festival features more than 80 different types of the flower, including Fantasia, Hasina, Country Girl, First Edition, Hakun, and Betty Bop.
