Founded in 1896 by J Stuart Blackton and Albert E. Smith, the American Vitagraph Company was the first modern motion picture production company in the US. This is a short film of the studios history in Brooklyn along with the current effort to save the smokestack. Elements of the film will be included in the documentary John Bunny - Film's First King of Comedy in production for release in 2015 which will also include seven shorts of the comedian known all over the world.
