In this video, a Wuyi Rock Tea comparison: Rougui vs. Bai Ji Guan, two fairly different Yan Cha with some common "rocky" features.
Gabriele puts two well-known Yan Cha head-to-head, and compares their taste, steeping times, and origins, as well as examines the different cultivars that are used for Wuyi Rock Tea, including the Si Da Ming Cong, or 'Four Famous Bushes'. Wuyi Rock Teas or Cliff Teas, from Wuyi Shan in Fujian, China, are famed for their high quality, rich flavours with intense roasting, and distinctive mineral taste—not forgetting having a very famous member in Da Hong Pao, one example of which was sold for the most money ever paid for a tea. Superficial fame aside, Wuyi is likely the origin for oolong style processing as well as black tea, and continues to produce delicious teas today. Finding a good one, however, is another story....
