Presented by Ms. Peta-Gay Kirby and Mrs. Megan Hylton.
As we work towards sustainable development to secure future generations, we must groom minds to be creative and critical thinkers. STEM is one means of fostering the development of this mindset and culture as a norm. However, one area of resistance is created by a lack of understanding of expectations for projects by children, their parents and teachers. During this webinar, we propose strategies for early childhood and primary teachers to make their expectations clear through the use of rubrics, as well as approaches for families to normalize critical thinking through at-home STEM problem-solving. Teachers will also be sensitized on the use of STEM coding softwares for children and their benefit for the 4th industrial revolution.
